As the undisputed king of five-star dining in the Caribbean, St. Barth is kicking off the 2016-2017 season in the only way it knows how: with a world-class culinary festival.

Back for its third straight year from November 3rd through 6th, the St. Barth Gourmet Festival welcomes nine notorious French chefs for a unique partnership with the island’s leading restaurants and hotels. Many of them will work in tandem with local executive chefs on the island, while others take full command of the kitchen to create a sampler of their restaurants back home. Either way, crowds of visiting foodies can expect a tantalizing taste of classic French cuisine, inspired by the fresh ingredients and distinguished culinary culture of St. Barth.

Right here at Restaurant Le Sereno, we are proud to welcome the two-Michelin-starred Executive Chef of Le Gabriel in Paris, Jérôme Banctel. Having trained alongside legendary chefs like Alain Senderens at Lucas Carton, Chef Banctel employs a contemporary French cuisine known for its authentic, elevated flavors and highest-quality ingredients. There’s even a hint of Asian influence, as Chef Banctel is a frequent visitor of Japan.

Chef Banctel will collaborate with our very own Chef Alex Simone—a Michelin-starred chef himself—to create a succulent, four-course, French-Mediterranean menu that visiting diners won’t soon forget.

Elsewhere on the island, the St. Barth Gourmet Festival will showcase a wide array of culinary talent, starting with the event’s patron chef, three-Michelin-starred Christian le Squer of Four Seasons George V in Paris, and Arnaud Donckele, the youngest ever recipient of three Michelin stars at La Vague d’Or restaurant at the Résidence de la Pinède in Saint-Tropez.

Other distinguished attendees include Sylvestre Wahid, two-star chef of Sylvestre at the Hotel Thournieux in Paris; Guy Martin, two-star chef at Le Grand Véfour in Paris; Virginie Basselot, one-star chef at the Saint James Hotel in Paris; Fabien Lefebvre, one-star chef at Octopus restaurant in Béziers; Christophe Saintagne, Chef at Papillon restaurant in Paris; and Gilles Marchal, Pastry Chef at Pâtisserie Gilles Marchal in Paris.

In addition to their extensive tasting menus (four or eight courses), the participating chefs and restaurants will also offer supplementary events like wine tastings and cooking classes. For a full lineup and schedule of the festival (available as the event draws closer), please see the St. Barth Gourmet Festival website.
